Thank you for your interest in attending the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy Nicolae Testemiţanu of the Republic of Moldova (USMF).  With great delight we would like to announce that the dental school has recently been granted full approval by the Dental Board of California.  It gives us even greater pleasure to inform you that it is taught entirety in English. (Please see USMF approval letter by the Dental Board of California).

What are the advantages of studying in the fully approved English dental program in Moldova?

  1. You can apply to the program right after finishing high school.
  2. No need to travel out of the country to determine your admittance.
  3. All interviews and assessments are completed by a visiting USMF committee in Encino, California.
  4. The program is taught in English. 
  5. Just like dental students in the United States, you are eligible to take the National Dental Board Exam (NDB)  Part 1 after successfully completing the third year of study and the NDB Part 2 after successfully completing the fourth year of study.
  6. While in school and doing rotations you will be trained for the required Western Regional Examination Board (WREB) clinical examination and Law & Ethics. Most students will complete all these exams by the end of the fifth year of the program.
  7. Apply for a a license to practice in California after the completion of the USMF foreign dental program. You must have passed all DBC required exams, prior to applying for the dental license.
  8. You will have a rich and exciting experience of living in Europe, traveling and learning new cultures.
  9. You will save money, as tuition and living expenses in Europe are much lower.

5-Year Dental Program Requirements:

  • Program Duration: 5 years
  • Minimum Education Level Required to Apply:  Completion of High School Education  (High School Diploma)
  • Program Language: English. Non-US graduates must demonstrate an acceptable speaking and reading knowledge of English
  • Application process for academic year 2019-2020 opens on February 1, 2019
  • Application Deadline: July 20, 2019.
  • Program Start date: September 3, 2019

  • Degree Earned Upon Completion: Doctor of Dental Medicine. (California Code of Regulations 1700.5  allows licensees to append “D.D.S.” to his or her name)

Applicant’s Document Requirements:

Please make sure all the  documents are  designated only with the name on your valid passport.

  1. A completed Application Form for the USMF Dental Program in English fully approved by the California Dental  Board
  2. A notarized copy of the High School Diploma, endorsed with an Apostille and a notarized copy of the High School Transcript;
    Non-US graduates: The School Leaving Certificate (Mark Sheet List or High School Certificate) and the High School Transcript, both with an Apostille of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where the applicant graduated
  3. A certified copy of the Birth Certificate
  4. A copy of the passport. Passport must be valid for a period not less than one year from the program start date
  5. A Criminal Background check by a Federal government agency of the applicant’s country of residency, endorsed with an Apostille by Department of State.  The applicant must have a clean criminal record. The Criminal Background Check submitted can not be older than 6 month. For citizens or residents of the United States please see “Criminal Background check for US residents” section below. Upon acceptance, an updated Criminal Background Check not older than two month from the program start date will need to be taken to Moldova with all the other original documents
  6. A recent bank statement proving that sufficient funds (at least $20,000) are available to pay tuition expenses
  7. A letter on a Physician’s letterhead confirming that the applicant does not suffer from any communicable diseases that may pose a threat to public health. The Physician’s letter can not be older that 6 month at the program start date. This medical certificate shall also state the applicant’s AB0 blood type (including Rh factor). Please attach vaccination record.  Here is a sample medical certification form as a Word file
  8. 10 European passport size, non-glossy pictures (3 x 4 cm) on a white background
  9. A completed and signed Declaration Form
  10. If married, a notarized copy of the Marriage certificate
  11. If the applicant graduated from a high school in a country where English is not the official language, verification of English proficiency is required
  12. When available, any other Diploma, confirming  college or university education, endorsed with an Apostille
  13. Application fee – $160.00

IMPORTANT:

  • All documents must be in English or have notarized English translations. Please be aware each document needs to be notarized separately.
  • All the documents shall be submitted to umusa.org@gmail.com for USMF. Each document shall be scanned separately into PDF format and attached as a separate file.  Each file name shall consist of the Applicant’s Last , First Name_Type of document ( Example: << Smith, John _Application Form>>). Use only the name on your valid passport.
  • Application fee shall be paid by check, payable to University of Moldova.US and mailed to:

    Please mark the memo area of the check with the applicant’s name and designate as an application fee (Example: << Smith, John _Application Fee>>).
  • Applicant must submit original hard copies of electronically submitted documents upon request. Once accepted, all originals must be brought to Moldova as well.

Upon receipt and review of your application by USMF, you might be scheduled for an examination to assess your proficiency in basic Biology and Chemistry with USMF admission committee. An interview will also be conducted.

Criminal Background check for US residents:

  1. A criminal background check can be obtained by Requesting FBI Records. An easier way through this process is by using “FBI-Approved Channelers”. Here is the list of FBI-Approved Agencies who can help with both the finger prints and the background check.
  2. Please Apostille FBI Record by the U.S. Department of State. Faster service is available through third party vendors.
  3. Upon arrival to Moldova, original Apostille needs to be translated and notarized for a “long stay visa for study”.
