The UCMS was inaugurated on the 29 August 2013 and is a subdivision of the University. It was founded in full accordance with the Program of Development of Medical and Pharmaceutical Education in the Republic of Moldova for 2011-2020. With the financial support of the European Union, the aim of this program was to create a common European educational space, ensuring quality training and the practice of modern medical practices.
The curriculum provides courses at all levels of continuing training for medical, dental specialists and paramedics, such as patient communication skills, basic practical medical and surgical skills, advanced individual dexterity, team building and communication within a team, leadership skills, as well as a knowledge of resources and triage skills in crises management.
As it applies to dentistry the University Center for Medical Simulation (UCMS) provides improved safety of medical and dental processes as well as that of a patient by application of modern teaching methods and practices based on simulation. These Include Programs for Dental Emergency Patient Management and CPR as well as Dental Simulation Unit. These factors allow students and practitioners to obtain proper medical and dental competences and skills, in an organized way, according to a well-structured program without any risk for patients, reducing errors and improving the quality of dental care provided to the population.
